Dowel pins

Dowel pins are used to join wooden parts.
Through the optimized ratio of length and diameter our standard-dimensions ensure an optimum in stability and strength. Other
dimensions can certainly be ordered as well.
The dowel pins have fluted grooves on the sides for an optimal glue dispersion and are chamfered on both ends for easy
insertion in the drilled hole. Through the additionally inserted glue the dowel pins swell and firmly 'lock' joints.
To ensure an optimum quality the dowel pins are hand-sorted and therefore absolutely usable for automated insertion.
Our dowel pins are manufactured in accordance to DIN 68 150. Wood moisture 8-10%. Manufacturing tolerances +/- 0,2 mm
in diameter and +/- 1 mm in length.
The amount per kg is only an approximate value and not obligatory.
Information on the suitability of various wood-types:
Dowel pins made of beech-wood should be used for interior use.
For outdoor use beech-wood is only partly suited.
Also not ideal for outdoor use is the wood-type Ash, which according to the DIN-Standard is classified in the same risk
category as beech-wood. Because of this Ash-dowel pins are not in stock and will be manufactured only on request.
For outdoor usage we recommend dowel pins made of European Oakwood. This wood-type is classified as durable according to DIN EN 350-2 (natural durability). However Oakwood dowel pins can not be used for work-pieces made of pine-wood.
The connection of both wood-types would cause an oxidation process and through this a discoloration of the pine-wood would occur. In these cases we recommend Mahogany dowel pins.
