Patch
rods are used to remove pith, bark edges and mechanical damages, e.g.
on the beams of glued laminated timber.
With a milling machine and the milling guide, the faulty part of the
laminated timber is milled and replaced by the appropriate patch rod.
To insert this patch a milling machine with milling guide
and the appropriate milling cutter is used.
The milling guide with the milling machine seated on top is placed on the damaged surface. Press the milling machine down to insert the milling cutter into the wood. In this position the machine is pushed along the milling guide from one end to the other.
Another detail of this milling machine is that it can be used for normal wood-patches simply by using our Anti-Slip-Base Plate instead of the milling guide. Therefore no other machine or reequipping work is needed.
The big advantage of this patch rod over the products of our competitors is the bigger height of the patch. Because of this the patch can easily be planned or further processed without any problems. The grooves of our patches have a specially designed Double-Radius-Profile to hold even tighter when inserted.
With our specially designed Edge-Milling-guide you can also insert the patch rods M20 / M35 and M24 / M42 on the edge of your workpiece.
The edges are often damaged when transporting your goods or when they are handled in your workshop. With our system you can repair the edges on the finished product without much work.
Additional edge-patches or additional machines are NOT necessary.
Order information:
Our patch rods are available in the standard-length 80mm, 150mm, 250mm, 500mm.
The mentioned length is fead length of the milling machine, the patch length is 69mm longer.
e.g. a patch rod with 500mm is 569mm long!
